• Message Inputs: information entered or selected to generate a message, such as names, age, mission, theme, style, catchphrase, and related message settings
• Generated Content: AI-generated wake-up messages and spoken audio created through the app

We may also collect certain technical and usage information automatically, including:

• device type
• operating system version
• app usage information, such as features used
• alarm settings and preferences
• diagnostic or crash information, if applicable

• directly from you when you create an account, enter message details, upload voice recordings, or contact us;
• automatically from your device when you use the app; and
• through service providers that help us operate app features.

• create synthetic voices from submitted voice recordings;
• generate personalized wake-up messages;
• generate spoken audio versions of wake-up messages;
• save, play, and manage alarms and generated audio;

5. Third-Party AI Services and Data Sharing

5.1 Voice Recording and Voice Cloning

When you choose to upload a voice sample for voice cloning, WakePals may process:

• the voice recording; and
• the friend’s name or nickname associated with that voice in the account.

This data is sent to WakePals’ servers and then to ElevenLabs, Inc. to create and use a synthetic voice for wake-up messages in the app.

We use this data only to provide the voice cloning and voice playback features requested by the user.

Users must review and agree to this processing before a voice sample is uploaded.

5.2 AI Message Generation

When you generate a wake-up message, WakePals may process:

• message inputs entered or selected by the user, such as the child’s name, age, mission, theme, style, catchphrase, and related message settings.

This data is sent to WakePals’ servers and then to OpenAI to generate the wake-up message text.

We use this data only to provide the AI message generation feature requested by the user.

Users must review and agree to this processing before a message is generated.

5.3 Voice Generation from Message Text

When you create spoken audio from a generated message, WakePals may process:

• the generated message text; and
• the selected voice ID.

This data is sent to WakePals’ servers and then to ElevenLabs, Inc. to create the spoken audio message.

We use this data only to provide the spoken wake-up message feature requested by the user.

Users must review and agree to this processing before audio is generated.

5.4 Other Service Providers

We may use hosting, storage, database, authentication, analytics, or infrastructure providers, such as AWS, to operate and secure the app.

5.5 No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information.

5.6 Protection by Third Parties

We require third-party service providers that receive user data on our behalf to provide the same or equal protection of user data as described in this Privacy Policy and required by applicable law and platform rules.

6. Permissions and Authorized Uploads

Users may only submit a voice recording if they have permission to do so.

• If the recorded person is under 18, the user must have permission from that person’s parent or legal guardian.
• If the recorded person is an adult, the user must have that person’s permission.

By using the voice upload and AI generation features, the user represents that they have the required permission for the submitted data.

7. Children’s Privacy

WakePals is a parent-controlled app. Children are not asked to independently create accounts or directly submit personal information through the app.

A parent or legal guardian may provide limited child-related information, such as a child’s name and age, to personalize wake-up messages.

If a parent or legal guardian believes information about a child has been submitted without proper permission, they may contact us at wakepals.app@gmail.com to request review or deletion.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app’s services, maintain the account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

Users may request deletion of:

• voice recordings,
• generated message data,
• related synthetic voice data,
• child-related personalization data, or
• their account data.

When we receive a valid deletion request, we will delete or de-identify the requested data within a reasonable period, unless we are required to retain it for legal, security, or operational reasons.

Revoking consent may limit or disable certain app features, including voice cloning, message generation, or voice playback.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including measures such as encryption, access controls, and secure infrastructure.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International and U.S. Data Processing

Your data may be processed and stored on servers located in the United States.

By using WakePals, you understand that your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
